Memblog semula!
Selamat kembali!
Ingin kembali 'memblog' selepas sunyi sepi beberapa tahun. Anak-anak semakin membesar, cabaran membesarkan anak-anak memang mencabar. Blog ini memberi ruang perkongsian ilmu dan juga pendapat. Buat tatapan sahabat-sahabat yang sealiran. Minat utama adalah fotografi, persediaan masa pencen nanti ( jika Allah meminjamkan usia mencapai takat itu!)Menjangkau usia 40-an timbul minat baru kesan dari serangan pertama gout, lari@run. Moga kekal sihat dan bersemangat seperti mula-mula menceburkan diri.

One hour without light.
I would like to congratulate those; individuals, organisations and countries that support the move made by WWF to heal the earth. In the news, many participated in the campaign. If only this can be monthly basis, some may voice their disagreement. I can save my money on electricity bill, why don't I try! Personally, the idea of saving the earth and the fact is that the earth is sick never reach those who living in rural. How to educate them on this issue? When I shared this issue with my friend, he responded by saying those rural folks were not the aware of global heat. The authority - especially the elected representatives should play their part, to raise awareness on global heat. As far I am concerned, I never heard of elected representative ( in my village, I am 36 years old now ) gave a talk or ceramah about current issues like consumerism, education , etc. By right, they should show their 'care' to earth.
Parents and teachers are two main driving force to instill the spirit of 'love our earth' among young generation. Parents should educate their children to appreciate the earth, at home. At young age, these children should be educated to save energy. Allocate time for watching ( how many hours a day ), washing ( make sure more than one cloth for each washing ), switch off or unplug unused electrical items. After that, rationalize the actions to the children, children are good learner. At school, the teacher would 'fortify' the foundation laid by parents at home. At school, there are subjects like Geography, Science, and other that integrate environment education. As teacher, teaching Form Three English, there is a theme on environment - I like the theme. I still remember teaching topic on 'Flash flood ' , the unit tells about the causes of flash flood. Development and ungrateful human were among causes stated in the article. The students also shared their own experiences, their village. These students appreciate the environment, they were educated by their parents. These students noticed that the older generation tend to ' neglect ' the earth. The river, become a dump site and 'toilet'. No catch for for anglers, fish nowhere to be found. The river die, gradually.
Be a good mentor to young generation, educate them to appreciate environment - the earth. I, myself, educate my son to use less plastic. I bring along my woven-rattan basket to weekly market, I say no no plastic bag. Recently, I went to a stationary shop, I told the shop owner that I don't need the plastic bag. She congratulated me for being environment friendly, she asked whether I switch off the light during the éart hour. I did my part to save the world.
We, the present generation won't live long - may be tomorrow or someday Jibrail will come to invite us to the next destination. Our children will be the heir and heiress to serve the earth, leave the earth with dignity. Save our earth, the house of our children.

The economy crisis
I have had enough about the impact of economy crisis toward us, the people who live in this earth. This morning a read an article about the 'boom ' in entertainment industry in USA. The article made me scratched my head, no dandruff! The article described how the present economy situation encouraged more women ventured into adult movies and strip dance. I write on my believe that faith is superior, my religion taught us to be patience whenever there is trouble. The present economy situation is a trouble, so we need to be patience. We were struck by the same economy downfall few years back, in the 90's. Why don't we learn from the past, history.
I was so sad to come across a photo of pregnant woman on the pavement holding a placard written 'I am jobless, no home ' , forgot the exact phrases. reminder for us, do save money for the future. Nobody able to predict what gonna happen tomorrow, in the future. An expert advised us to save at least 10% out of monthly income. If you are parents, please, instill the saving habit to your children. I, myself, a bad money manager. The present situation made me more careful with money. I have enough saving for my retirement, my son education and in process to build a house. The photo remind me how important a house, a house built on wide area where I can grow vegetable and fruits - my dream home. I don't want to like some people out there who live in tent on government land ( illegally ), they forget to buy houses as they busy making money.
There are retrenchment all over the world as companies struggle to avoid major loss, cease business. The main option is to reduce workforce. Lucky for those who are ready to be retrenched and sorry to those unprepared. Those who have bank loans to be settled ( house and car loan ), schooling children and other are the most affected group. I am in government, affected too, not retrenched. Those who work in private sectors are prone to retrenchment. They need to look for job opportunity to stay alive, for the family sake. It's better to have second job, beside the official job, preparation for unexpected tomorrow.
Be ready for the unexpected, unless you're the main character in First Edition who able to know/forecast tomorrow events earlier. we are human being, careful is the word that must be in our mind.
